| Golden Horseshoe Golf Club offers three tournaments in November |
| November is a great month for golf in Virginia, and Colonial Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe invites golfers to enjoy three different tournaments this November. The event schedule features the 17th annual Couples Golf Tournament, the third annual Golden Horseshoe Gobbler and the 2009 Fall Military Invitational. The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is part of Colonial Williamsburg’s Resort Collection and is located at 401 S. England St. For tournament details, visit www.colonialwilliamsburgresort.com/golf/tournaments. Special room rates are available at the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel & Suites, an official hotel of Colonial Williamsburg’s Resort Collection. Rates start at $109 per room, per night, excluding tax and gratuity. To make a reservation, call 1-800-447-8679 and ask for the tournament competitor’s package. The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is a championship venue widely acclaimed for its two dynamic golf designs: the Gold Course, originally designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones Sr. and renovated by his son Rees Jones (6,817 yards from the championship tees), and the Green Course, a Rees Jones layout (7,120 yards from the tips). The Golden Horseshoe was most recently recognized as one of the Top 75 Golf Resorts in North America by Golf Digest and a Readers Choice Top 50 Golf Resort by Golf World. Established in 1926, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is the not-for-profit educational institution that preserves and operates the restored 18th-century Revolutionary capital of Virginia as the nation’s largest living history museum. Colonial Williamsburg’s Resort Collection offers more than 1,000 guest rooms among five hotels, including the landmark Williamsburg Inn, four historic dining taverns and six restaurants, a new 20,000-square-foot spa, the Golden Horseshoe golf courses and 66,000 square feet of conference space centered at the restored Williamsburg Lodge. Williamsburg is located in Virginia’s Tidewater region, 20 minutes from Newport News, within an hour’s drive of Richmond and Norfolk, and 150 miles south of Washington, D.C., off Interstate 64. For more information about Colonial Williamsburg, call 1-800-HISTORY or visit Colonial Williamsburg’s Web site at www.colonialwilliamsburgresort.com. Purchase of Colonial Williamsburg products and services supports the Foundation’s preservation, research, and educational programs. |
